Ian Bell - Warwickshire CCC and England
Benefit Year 2011
It was the Spring of 2010 when Ian first approached me to ask if I would be interested in helping him if he were to be awarded a Benefit in 2011 by the members of Warwickshire County Cricket Club for his loyalty over the last 10 years or so.
Whilst I knew this would impact greatly on my already hectic diary, I was both honoured and delighted to accept the position as Chairman of his Benefit Committee.
Another bonus in my eyes was the fact that Ian had pledged to support the Acorns Children’s Hospice throughout his year – the charity is close to my heart and I have been a part of their Coventry Fundraising Team for over 15 years.
